Visas & Work Permits

You usually need a work permit to work in Canada. In some cases, you can work without a permit. There are some exemptions.

Open work permit applicants

You must also have a valid job offer while COVID-19 travel restrictions are in place.

Employer-specific work permit applicants

Your employer must have completed all of the required steps for your employer-specific work permit.

Mandatory quarantine, COVID-19 testing and other requirements

Before you travel to Canada, make sure you know the rules and what you need to do before and after you arrive. Use the checklist that applies to you:
