Meeting people is key to anyone successfully settling into a new community and volunteering is a terrific way to do that. Volunteers are the heart of the many activities and festivals across the Island. Roll up your sleeves and peel some potatoes or help set the stage for some world-class music. This is the best way to quickly become involved in your new community.

- Loaves and Fishes – need people to help prep the daily meal they provide to those in need
- Cape Breton Farmer’s Market
- Cape Breton Food Hub – this non-profit service is always in need to people to help fill and deliver the Food Hub orders
- SPCA – Volunteer duties can include office admin, shelter greeter, animal care, photographer and animal transport
