Centre for Migrant Worker Rights Nova Scotia
The Centre for Migrant Worker Rights Nova Scotia provides information and support to migrant workers (also known as Temporary Foreign Workers) throughout Nova Scotia. Our work is based on an ethic of solidarity and mutual aid.
OUR WORK INCLUDES:
DIRECT SUPPORT & ACCOMPANIMENT: We accompany Migrant Workers who are in situations of abuse or injury. We may be able to provide support to access emergency food and housing. We also support Migrant Workers to navigate services like health care and applying for benefits.
PUBLIC EDUCATION: We regularly host online and in- person educational events and training sessions for Migrant Workers, Service Providers and the public. Follow our social media platforms for upcoming events or get in touch to plan a session.
ADVOCACY: We advocate for migrant worker rights including public healthcare and permanent immigration status for all migrants.
