Jino James, Rani Jino & Kids
"The family is delighted with their decision to call Unama’ki - Cape Breton home and is particularly thrilled to see more people from Kerala (India), immigrating to the region and making it their own."
Meet Jino James, Rani Jino, and their children—Eileen, Jewel, and Mila—a family whose Canadian dream became a reality through the Nova Scotia Provincial Nomination Program. Jino had harboured the ambition of coming to Canada since his twenties, and in September 2021, they made the significant move to settle permanently.
In 2022, Jino found a meaningful role as a Social Worker in the Department of Community Services, Child and Family Wellbeing in Unama’ki – Cape Breton. This opportunity led the family to relocate to Port Hawkesbury in February 2022, a decision that later proved to be the right one for them.
Jino and Rani’s family expanded with the birth of Mila, who became the first of the family born in Canada. In March 2023, they achieved another milestone by purchasing a home in Port Hawkesbury, marking them as the first family from their home province, Kerala (India), to buy a home in the area.
Rani also found fulfilment in her career, recently starting as a Registered Nurse at the Strait Richmond Hospital. The family is delighted with their decision to call Unama’ki – Cape Breton home and is particularly thrilled to see more people from Kerala (India), immigrating to the region and making it their own.
Jino, Rani, and their children symbolise the resilience, dreams, and success that come with immigration, contributing not only to their personal growth but also enriching the diverse fabric of Unama’ki – Cape Breton.
