Human Rights

Cape Breton – Unama’ki and all of Canada value all persons as equal. This is an Island and a country where we allow the whole person to live fully. The rights of all are upheld in the Canadian Charter of Human Rights. Any person in Canada – whether they are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a newcomer – has the rights and freedoms contained in the Charter.

This video, “Never take your rights for granted” by the Canadian Human Rights Commission, outlines the rights all Canadians are entitled to receive.
