Sonam Losar
Sonam Lhosar is a significant festival celebrated by the Tamang community in Nepal, marking their New Year. ‘Lho’ means year, ‘Sar’ means new or fresh, and ‘Sonam’ refers specifically to the Tamang people. It is also celebrated by other Himalayan Buddhist communities in parts of India such as Sikkim and Darjeeling, as well as in Bhutan and Tibet.
