Sambisa Memorial Day

December 22 is designated as Sambisa Memorial Day in Borno State, observed as a public holiday. This day serves to mourn the victims of Boko Haram insurgents, honor the Nigerian Military’s achievements, and remember the fallen soldiers and volunteers who bravely sacrificed their lives in the fight against Boko Haram in various regions of Borno State since 2009.
