Orthodox Christmas Day

Orthodox Christmas Day falls on January 7 each year as the Orthodox Church adheres to the Julian calendar to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The modern Gregorian calendar, which introduced adjustments to the calendar year, shifted the celebration of Christmas to December 25. As a result, the two calendars now observe Christmas on different dates.
